Can we stop pretending comic book movies are for comic book nerds?
Nobody fucking reads comics, and the people who do either stick to the classics by Miller and Moore or avoid cape shit altogether, preferring European fantasy and sci-fi graphic novels instead.
99% of people who know any comic book lore learned it from YouTube Shorts and TikTok—they’ve never picked up a comic in their life. The majority of those who watch comic book movies are into superheroes as a co concept, not into comics.

the people reading non-superhero comics already read all the good superhero comics, dumbfuck. the only exception is tWD, people new to comics read that despite it not being capeshit because the show was such a massive hit in the zeitgeist
