This.
Combine the proliferation of AI, the loss of any celebrity with star power and social media killing any aspect of mystique they once had, the endless remakes and requels and rehashes and reimaginings, capeshit and starslop, the usurping of video games as the number one medium of entertainment combined with the internet, the incessant demand to infuse satanic propaganda and marxist liberalism Californian ideology into everywhere where it doesn't belong, the ease of being able to create your own 3D animations in Blender and 3DS Max, the low cost of being able to make film yourself, and hoke theatre systems being purchasable by the average consumer, the fuck do we need Hollywood for?

The next big thing isn't going toc oem out of Hollywood; its going to come out of some assholes garage in like, Akron, Ohio and be the biggest thing ever while the 120th Academy Awards will be hosted at Casa Bonita's bathroom. They won't go quietly into the night, not with mossad, CIA and China all tied up into their shit, but it will be a whimper and not a bang of a death. I have seen better ideas thrown around here and more AI-slop kino generated by bored anons like that one about the cats working at McDonald's or that black dude fighting alligators in a swamp.

I can't wait to make my own kinos. Rest in Piss, Hollywood. Your death is revenge for St. Simon of Trent.

In texas we have the alamo drafthouse where we can drink beer and eat burgers, the menu of the movie food needs to be updated in movie theaters

two, need comfy seating, my ass will thank you.

three, affordable prices

four, the quality of movies needs to be improved, this is the hardest one, need to return to the days where there were directors you knew who you anticipated new films, who is left? nolan? tarantino? need youthful directors to make a name for themselves

five, bring back comedies

Good movies

This is what they just dont understand. If you make good movies, you can be as preachy as you want. Movies in the 80s and 90s were very preachy, but no one gave a shit because they were good. For example, Star Trek 4 has a very strong anti-whaling message, and everyone loves that movie.

One time years ago I watched Lawrence of Arabia on Netflix (I got it for my mom) and a few days later went to the kinoplex with some people and watched some movie there. I paid about as much for that subscription as I did for that one movie ticket for a mediocre movie, and it got me thinking, shouldn't it be the opposite? Shouldn't I be paying a small fee to watch a bunch of mediocre shovelware, and a movie ticket price to watch some actual kino on the big screen?
And that's why kinoplexes are dying. Why bother paying movie theater prices to watch star wars 9 or jurassic park 7 when you can watch actual movies for a lot cheaper?
Not to mention the enshittification of the experience. The fact that you pay to watch ads is insane. The prices keep going up. I hear in american theaters they sell meals to watch with the movies. Etc. I haven't watched a movie in a kinoplex since before covid.

The home experience good enough. You can get a massive 4K tv and decent sound system for roughly a grand. To get that experience at home when I was young. You had to throw some serious cash at it, so most middle class households either didn't or couldn't do it. The theater has to offer an experience I can't reasonable expect to replicate at home.

The harder problem is going the theater is just bad experience considering how expensive it is go it almost never worth it. The problem is dealing with other people. You can't fix that problem without pricing out the undesirables. Rich douchebags are even more inconsiderate. Even that wouldn't fix it.

Maybe Imax sort of theaters but at a discount price. Then again it will still be the same shitty audience and situations. The bottom line is huge TVs are affordable and the time gap from theater release to home is only a few months.

Lower costs. That's literally it.
When I was in uni, we had an amazing student discount and you got a film and a snack for like 5 or 6 bucks. Surprisingly enough, I saw pretty much every major blockbuster release and a lot of smaller releases when that was in effect.
Now, it costs like 15 bucks and the closest cinema is a bus ride away.

First the movies have to start being good again. The who, what, when, where, how, and why of this issue has been documented and talked about many times over by many people, many times smarter than me.

As for getting my ass in a theater seat. I honestly do not know. It's incredibly hard to justify paying roughly $30 dollars to see, even a great movie, to be seated in a theater with a bunch of brown people who don't know how to sit still and be quiet for two hours.
