If you listen with headphones you can hear Pink struggling to start the car which keeps stalling then when he gets it going there's gunshots a crash and then a bunch of cops yelling at him. In between all the shouting you can clearly hear Buscemi shout "Don't shoot! I've been shot goddamnit!" and eventually a cop saying "stay on the fucking ground. Don't you fucking move!"
He very clearly gets apprehended moments after leaving. Maybe he would've gotten away had the car started immediately though I suspect with the surrounding police presence he still would've been caught.
