On the one hand it is basically just slop, when you think about it it's not so different from a superhero movies... It is a fair complaint that the MC clearly stops struggling at all during S2. That being said, I really don't find the fights in Solo Leveling boring, Sung Jinwoo's mastery of literally everything fills the fights with interesting and unique choreography and attacks. Solo Leveling has some great choreography, jumping all over the room during fights and shit.

There were really bad stakes. It reached a point pretty early where he was stronger than anything on earth, so they had to build up a new threat, only for him to seemingly get some new power easily that made the threat null, often before he even knew about it. It was pretty boring after a while. A power fantasy has to have balance so there's something he actually needs to overcome. I did enjoy the comfy epilogue and the start of the story.
