Dark Descent is the best Aliens game, even if plebs choose to ignore it. Isolation is overlong and repetitive.

AvP1 was good in its day, but the second game had awful level design that took all the fun out of it.

None of it's a slog kek. You can get through areas pretty quickly. If you're hiding all the time and waiting, that's on you. It usually punishes you for doing so too much by having the xeno get you. But gives you tools to distract the xenomorph and eventually better weapons to drive it away. Just turn down the difficulty. It's always funny people like you complain it's too hard since you'd complain it was too easy the other way around.
