Two weeks ago I took some and went to a park, but it was not doing anything, even after a couple of hours. Then it hit me right when I was heading back home. The 20 minutes subway trip felt like 5 hours of comedy and terror, all of those people with funny faces, I could see SpongeBob backgrounds everywhere. There I was, inside a metal worm cruising from underneath the city at high speed. Later I sat in front of a store that had this banner showing a looping video ad for sunglasses with models shapeshifting into each other and it made me smile at how crazy we are as a society to get to this point. When I got home I was sure I had peed and soiled myself entirely, but turns out it was just sweat, so great news. Family Guy was on tv and I don't remember anything except Stewie said "uh-huh" this one time and I found the timing to be so perfect that I laughed it off for 10 minutes and then laughed at myself for finding that funny. Rolling in bed in pure laughter at how stupid all of that was. When I got sober I started to think about death, not in a bad way and not in a good way either, just the point of living and going away one day, it was somewhat comfortable to realize we have nothing to save ourselves from. I felt that some of the issues I try to rationalize in my daily life were like impossible crossword puzzles that I could just set aside on the table and say "forget about it", saving years of therapy I guess. Underneath the veil of normal ordinary life there is an ocean of pure fear bubbling and boiling inside each one of us. However, underneath that madness, a flatland of peace, silence and comfort in which existence stands on. I lived through an entire year that day.
