It was alright but it felt mostly like an episode of a tv show than anything else. I guess that was the point but as such I don't think it'll have any lasting value. Basically it's only meant to make you want to tune in for the next installment.

That's kind of what the Raimi movies were and they had staying power. By contrast you have shit like Age of Ultron which was the most BIG DEAL superhero movie up to that point, yet it's pretty much forgotten about.

I think movies back then were written to be more adhering to the typical three act structure, which made them come off more "solid" like you're reading a story with a beginning, middle and end.

This latest Superman movies feels more like a series of events and the structure is not that apparent. It still progresses through the motions, but it feels more erratic and it emphasizes the episodic nature of the whole thing. It's like each scene/set piece was conceptualized separately rather than organically following a "storytelling" approach.
