Kind of but not really.

He has the invulnerability, super strength, super speed, and flight...and he wears a cape. So people immediately assume he's a Superman expy.

But in reality there are too many differences:
- Superman is a perfect man doing good, the Sentry is a flawed man trying to do good.
- Superman's biggest threats are external, the Sentry's biggest threats are internal.
- The Sentry weakness is his mental state, Superman's weaknesses are external (kryptonite, magic, red sunlight)
- The Sentry has a lot more powers than Superman: Psychic powers, reality bending, matter creation, and energy manipulation.

There's definitely some inspiration taken from Superman, but saying that Sentry isn't an original character is like saying that Superman isn't an original character (taking "inspiration" from pulp like Doc Savage, Gladiator, etc.)

There's an even stronger divergence from Sentry and Superman than that. Sentry is clearly henchman coded. Ever since his initial appearance he's been only ever used as muscle. He, by design, does not possess a lot of agency and needs directions from someone more "stable" than himself. To that end he keeps showing up in ensemble situations as the muscle guy. Thor used to be the go-to for that back when Thor was more quiet and stoic but then they started to give him more shit to do and more character. So Sentry took over that role completely, starting from Civil War and onwards. Sure he goes off script sometimes and shows some initiative but rarely.
