Different women have different tastes in men, just like different men have different tastes in women.

A problem arises, though, in the fact that
1) Many women like to portray themselves and maybe their immediate friend group as basically all women.
2) The dominant, masculine manly man is the most popular type of man, but popular ideological currents pressure certain demographics of women to not want to admit that this is their preferred type of man and to lie and say that they prefer softer men. This isn't to say that there is no market at all for these softer men, but that the aforementioned ideological trends make it so that it seems like these men are in much higher demand than they actually are, and the manly man is less desired than he actually is.
