First of all, Wednesday (and Stranger Things) is derivative of CW, but with a much uglier cast. All the characters, their plotlines, and the overall storylines were already done in The Vampire Diaries, Riverdale, Supernatural, and other shows.

Secondly, Netflix made a mistake by taking so long between seasons. CW used to produce 20 episodes per season and release one season per year. Netflix, on the other hand, puts out about 10 episodes every three years.
