Generally if i see John Lithgow is in something, I'm curious enough to go see it... but not this. Not a cynical cash-grab remake of a perfectly serviceable recent movie franchise.

The movies really aren’t good adaptations of the books. A TV show allows them to adapt the book without cutting out 3/4 of the plot and backstory/context.

It’s not a “cash-grab remake”, if they wanted to print money they would have made them movies.
It also wasn’t a “perfectly serviceable franchise,” it is the universal consensus that the movies fell off a cliff after the third. A tv series is the better format for an adaption and will be far more faithful to the books.
