A little long though, and I don't even mean overstuffed, just a slight bit of cutting on the artsy long-shots would've made this feels snappier and wittier, I always think of "The Departed", go watch that movie today, the editing is so snappy and almost cutting out of scenes too fast, it keeps the movie at the perfect pacing and it was a huge smash at the time. Like the scene where they investigate the cop car and they're all standing there, you needed one good shot of the black cop and then MOVE THE SCENE ON we get it. Still excellent movie though.
I loved the main theme of knee-jerk reactions. It's using real political discomfort to distract from the obvious underlying story (the data center being built) in the same way that real life politics is used to distract us all from the obvious underlying movements (any power grabs from any side, mostly the rich and connected).
All the bad things that happen are the result of making a choice based on bad info, or making a choice too quickly based on emotion or desire.
