>>212936448 (OP)I love his folklore and period accuracy schticks and he's the only high-profile filmmaker with access to real money who does this, so I will watch literally anything he puts out. That said, while I certainly enjoyed The Northman and Nosferatu, they both felt just slightly underwhelming compared to The VVitch and The Lighthouse, so I hope he doesn't stagnate artistically too hard. On the one hand I really love the particular niche he's carved out for himself, on the other I do wonder if writing-directing something radically out of his wheelhouse, like e.g. a musical comedy, wouldn't challenge and hone his skills. I also love that his muse is Willem Dafoe of all people and that he's going to cast in every single film he ever makes.
