Veteran here. Served 3 years in the McDonald’s grill and did a tour of my local fish and chips shop back in ‘19. Civvies don’t understand how good they have it. The stress we go through. Oh man. Fryer oil hotter than hell itself. Grease shooting off like gunfire. They come in, order their food and walk out. For us? There’s no escape. And even when you’re out.. those memories stay with you. Standing shoulder to shoulder with other kids as that new order beep goes on and on. I still hear that wretched sound in my dreams.

I'm a bit of a food snob. I like to go on food tours. I don't go to just any man-bun, Mumford and Sons motherf***er cafes. I went to New Orleans and ate at every restaurant with a cartoon crawfish on the signage. I ate a slow-roasted whole Venezuelan in Houston. I went to a roadside shack with plenty of Michelin tires on the wall in Rotting Flesh, KY. My guts bleed red, white, and blue. My doctors have described it as "a serious issue". I crapped a whole chipmunk, still breathing, having gestated I guess inside of my colon, after that trip. I am a veteran. I served my country. I continue to serve my country.

A girl i was seeing had this on, we watched it a bit. Liek a lot of dramas for women, it's all people telling each other off and being toxic.

I noticed every scene started with people yelling and screeching at each other. Two guys were moving a deep fryer and one had his foot in it. It was a pair of actors making up some reason for two characters to be yelling again and i got sick of it right there.

It's just conflict porn and trauma this trauma that for the quiet bits.

Yes I literally just started watching from Season 1 last week and its quite like that. Im half way through season 2 and its a lot less like that. I imagine it will be like that again at some point.

The whole first season is people mostly being assholes for no good reason to each other.

But each episode is only 30 minutes which feels nice compared to how so many shows these days have hour long episodes.

It's funny how I used to drink IPAs like crazy in my early to mid 20s and then the minute I turned 27 I realized I get as much enjoyment from European macro lager than I do from $12 per pint high proofed IPAs.
