There is a severe lack of GOOD adult animation. What exists is vomit-inducing slop like Bojack Horseman or Rick & Morty. All the money and effort goes into kids films and it sucks.

Even at its most alruistic, becoming a parent is a self serving exercise for self development. People become parents because it's a stage of life they want to attain, not out of a desire to improve a hypothetical child's life.
