the last episode was kino with dexter tracking and hunting down the dark passenger guy. the show is at it's best when it's just serial killer batman.

it's funny because you can literally track the logic for how this character was created

1. we need a serial killer named the 'dark passenger' so dexter can kill him and take his name back and sneak into the serial killer expo
2. the dark passenger needs a backstory so lets make it so that he kills uber drivers, that fits the name well
3. the dark passenger needs a motive, i guess it makes sense that the reason he kills uber drivers is because of immigrants stealing his job?
4. oh yeah, but he needs a reason to target dexter too for the story to work, lets make it so he hates all uber drivers not just immigrants

MCH is in top form as always as Dexter and its clear they learned from the mistakes of New Blood and are making Resurrection more like the early seasons. Angel going after Dexter is a good plot thread that I pray they dont shit the bed with. Im cautiously optimistic about the serial killer club hes joining as it could be schlockino but could also very very easily be awful.
Harrison is a lot more likable this season but hes still a bit too much of a Gary Stu for me, his plot is at least somewhat interesting and im glad hes not just a mini-Dexter. The Will Graham wannabe female detective is a fucking awful character though and hopefully dies this season. Her headphones scene was insanely fucking cringe.
Theres also a bit too many plot conveniences for my liking which yeah Dexter has always had but it feels like we're getting 1-2 an episode which takes you out of it when the universe keeps twisting so the plot can happen.
As always with Dexter im cautiously optimistic.

First episode was alright but the second was retarded as fuck. I don't understand the point of doing a chud anti-immigrant serial killer when the culture war has already been won by the right. Just pointless all around. Couldn't take the premise seriously and it became even more retarded the way he was tracked down.
Not to mention devoting the majority of the runtime to trying to make me feel bad for some loser foreigner was such a monumental waste of my time. The lady cop needs to be removed entirely as well, such a derivative and annoying character. "She sees things different than we do" as she does the most basic detective work I've ever seen.
