Most inconsistent world building I've ever seen in fiction. The villainous megacorp is omniscient when the writers need drama, and clueless when the writers need the good guys to win.
>one person invents severance alone, and the company adopts it on a seemingly global scale without testing if it can be undone or really any of the repercussions of it at all, yet are convinced it can't be undone
>the inventor has to sneakily test the technology through trial and error, the company is unaware of this and promotes her to head of the main severed branch
>a lone surgeon defects and figures out on her own that severance can be undone, despite literally no one else at the company figuring that out
>they send a single old guy after the defected surgeon, and don't follow up with ANYTHING when he goes missing
>they are somehow able to convince a guy that his wife died with a foolproof body-double because "they know people at the morgue"
Either they are so powerful they can manipulate reality to a degree where they can convince someone their wife died, or they're so bumbling they let people leave with company secrets or have employees die willy nilly and don't bother looking into it.
It feels like they're simultaneously a global superpower that owns half of alaska or wherever, and a small startup that's strained for resources

The second season was so fucking boring, I'm so sick of tv shows getting endless seasons when it's obvious they have no idea where the plot is going. Usually it takes until the third or fourth season to get bad but the mad madlads did it immediately
