>>212957226The issue with American culture is we've never appreciated education and natural curiosity on a national level. We pretend we do, but the sorry state of our public schools and pay-for-degree college scams reveal that we really don't give a shit about education. We don't want to pay for anything that doesn't immediately result in profit, and both the people and the politicians they vote for don't see the value in long-term nurturing of an educated populace. We refuse to invest in rural America for the same reasons, we don't see the immediate value in having a strong rural workforce, because it's better for the elites if everybody clusters around the same gigantic cities where people can be herded like cattle where they can drive up real estate prices into infinity.
We've seen just how far they'll go to maintain this order with the coordinated "Return to Office" scam they've been pulling after bragging for years about how amazing it is that people can work from home and be just as productive.
