Hulk (2003) is still criminally underrated. One of the last superhero films that didn't seem ashamed to be based on a comic book.

the ang lee one is an actual film and stay loyal to source material.
Also better actors, better OST, better music.

Incredible Hulk was an actual Hulk movie. It’s a shame it wasn’t the one released instead Ang Lee one which ruined The Hulk with a record 69% second weekend drop off. Why after Incredible Hulk under performed because of it they haven’t made a solo Hulk movie since

I remember being a kid and knowing how hard they blew the aesthetic of the hulk with the ed norton one. Blows my mind why they dont go all in on asian action directors for american material anymore either

Incredible Hulk for me. Hulk's a fucking beast in it. I wanted to like the Ang Lee film but the music and editing were atrocious. CGI's aged like milk too.

>regeneration
>tissue hardening
>toxin resistance
All these make sense for trying to improve humans.
>green bioluminescence
But why this? I get that it's to justify Hulk being green, but realistically why is green bioluminescence specifically a trait he's trying to isolate for his serum?

Whole reason The Hulk failed is nobody gives a shit the reasons on why Banner turns into a giant rampaging green monster. Like giving fifty minute explanation on why getting bit by a werewolf or a zombie turns you into one. Nobody cares

I never watched Hulk 2008. I thought it was retarded for them to remake it when the 1st Hulk was just 5 years old. This is where Marvel began with their reboot insanity. It was rediculous enough for them to do Spiderman (2012) with the spiderman trilogy still in memory. People give DC crap for reboots, but marvel is just as bad. Even the Xmen films I don't think are all in the same "universe"

To be fair, you have to be low IQ to then a Hulk movie into a boring art house movie. Even Stan Lee said Ang Lee should’ve just done a art house version of Mr Hyde

The Hulk was one is Marvel’s biggest characters. There was a time he was bigger Marvel character outside Spider Man because of the TV series. And Marvel didn’t reboot it Universal who has the movie rights and still do for The Hulk.

I was like 13 or 14 when Hulk came out the first and I liked the movie. I still always think of the scene with Hulk throwing tanks around the desert. That to me was the best hulk compared to anything in Avengers. I hate Avengers hulk so much. He's such a pussy. Hulk never feels powerful in the MCU. As far as Universal having money rights to The Hulk, I don't buy that. It's still a marvel movie to me. They still had the marvel intro and everything else.

Ang Lee took huge swings and you got to respect him for that. There wasn't really a formula for a crowd pleasing modern comic book movie back then (Raimi's Spiderman was released during production).

They didn't really remake it, The Incredible Hulk comes after the events of The Hulk. They recast Bruce Banner, but the movie didn't start from scratch.
