Write him a letter pretending to be an undersea engineer proclaiming that you are his biggest fan and only someone "in the know" "like us" could make this movie properly. Look up his Alma Mater and pretend to be from there or to have worked there. Ego satiated, he might do it. Cameron has a weird and massive ego, all based on their overly-successful hobby.
