Annoying, but not as egregious as just straight up inventing a whole ass new fantasy monster for the Dilo, which has almost nothing in common with its namesake.
Fans have been begging for years to establish that the Dilo's in the movies are more explicitly a hybrid/mutant and not full sized, and maybe even show a proper full sized Dilophosaurus, but they double down on the same old JP ones every time. Even in Rebirth, despite them committing to the new Spino's and having the JP3 Spino be a mutant. I guess anything shown in the first movie is just sacred and untouchable.
