This multiverse stuff reminds me of the debate on monotheism vs. polytheism. The multiverse is just a universe of universes. Likewise, if multiple gods exist, then there can exist one supreme god that created the gods.

It's never used in a way that's interesting. You could easily just do standalone films or shorts in different universes but instead they just use it as an excuse to throw random bullshit at you and have whatever setting they want. Also as a tool to help marvel reintroduce reacquired franchises

I think the idea of “same character but evil” and “same character but magical instead of science fiction” is infinitely less interesting than just a different character with a unique background and inspiration. These Spider-Man cartoons might be the only tolerable version of this idea cause the characters that they focus on are so radically different. Shame they’ll never finish it.

There’s a comic series called star wars infinite. Back from the dark horse publishing days that’s a series of what ifs. In pretty much all of them Leia takes Luke’s place or becomes the next darth Vader. It was very well received at the time because people didn’t have YouTube or 4chan to tell them to not like stuff.

Yeah, but if you see an alternate version of the main character get killed, then you might think the protagonist could actually be in danger. Thats the reaction these dipshits pushing it wanted you to have, but anytime they make it about the multiverse, it’s always made me feel like what I’m about to watch is pointless
