Parks and Recreation has to be the most soccer mom sitcom. Seriously. I was watching clips the other day and I was in awe of how mediocre everything about it is. Even the effort of making a joke is painfully mediocre.

I remember enjoying this when it was airing because it didn't feel mean-spirited like so much comedy is these days. I doubt I'd enjoy going back to it, things are too grim and I've become much too bitter.

It’s true, people accused it of being a rip off of The Office when it first came out and definitely was similar in tone and maybe more mean spirited. It definitely changed it up eventually, but my problem is it went too far later on and just became way too sappy and sentimental

It was comfy to have on in the background while I was chilling at home. When it was primering my mom had just moved out so it was fun to catch the episodes with her over a beer and a good meal.

I recognize that it's not good but I've got too many good memories attached to it. Superstore is unwatchable imo.

I am talking about this show. It really amazes me how mediocre it is. This probably has roots to its inoffensiveness because its filling some niche. The writing team behind it are either women or highly effeminate men.
They thought that the jokes, the characters, and the plot were good to go (despite all being half assed) because when they were talking about it in the writing room, every yesman reaction was positive.
First off, who the fuck names his sitcom "Parks and Recreation"? Not even AI can come up with such boring and bland name for a comedy show. Look how that blonde bitch always watches the sky and wears a soulless Mr Beast smile in every cover. What does that mean? Is she fake happy for her bland yet quirky office life? Is she smiling at Jesus or something? What is this?
Characters? Oh we have the boring blonde woman boss, the token jeet, the fag vegan, the high energy manchild, and the le manly man who tries to prove his manliness in the most beta working environment ever. And his jokes? Bacon. I eat all the bacon. Bacon only.

Yep. Her, that fat jigaboo and the paki weren't funny at all and could all be cut out of the show and it'd be better for it. Ron was fine before Reddit became obsessed with him. April is better the wackier she isn't. And Chris Pratt and Rob Lowe were the standouts.

It's a very mid show and I feel like the major reason it was pushed was because it was just a female version of The Office. The cast was around half as talented as The Office.
