They've been flanderized into something akin to Resident Evil's Umbrella Corporation. What was once a normal company with some uncaring executives looking to get paydays, one company among many competing companies, is now a humanity wide, ultra corportation controlling everything with zero competition and is super mega evil trying to enslave every human and work them to death. Disney's realized what Dark Horse and Fox realized back in the 80's and 90's. Alien and Predator is more profitable as a franchise that can constantly crossover with each other that allows them to re-use sets, props, even costumes for movies, on top of allowing them to constantly pump out crossover licensed content like games, comics, etc.
Ridley's getting less and less input over time on the Alien IP and it shouldn't be a surprise with that happening, Wey-yu's slowly starting to show up more in Predator shit.
If Badlands does well, expect a big alien and Predator crossover movie to be announced by 2030 so they can have marvel milk comic events.
