Now that Gunn's Superman flopped, will this get cancelled? Who's going to buy DC since the era of cape-slop is finally over?

Zazlav is pretending this DCU experiment is a huge success so he can sink WB further until it's able to be sold off at a price Apple wants because they don't want to splurge for WB's library. He's taking the entire company down and their most prized asset so he can get a big payday from Apple when they circle around. Expect this to happen by the end of the decade.

DC would flourish with Apple's blank cheques. They cannot lose money. Honestly, CGI animated features and TV shows will be the norm once AI gets good enough to supplement those production costs. Why pay some oversocialized degenerate like RDJ 100 million when you can pour that into making a CGI/AI Tony Stark that never ages or does drugs or is an otherwise idiot. Real life actors will be obsolete by the 2030's.

To the tune of "You've Got a Friend in Me" by Randy Newman.

You are a Snyderjeet
You are a Snyderjeet
You've been said to have James Gunn fatigue
It's been years and years since the Justice League
The Snyderverse got blown out like blitzkrieg
Boy, you are a Synderjeet
Yeah, you are a Snyderjeet

You are a Snyderjeet
You are a Snyderjeet
You like Henry Cavill, I like em' too
And Zack Snyder loved him like a jeet loves poo
Their DCU days are all but through
Cause you are a Snyderjeet
You are a Snyderjeet

Snyderjeets believe the Snyderverse is coming back
Delusional, it's true
But Gunn's Superman made a billion dollars too
Just to despite you

And as the years go by
Snyderjeets will one day die
They'll cope and they'll seethe and they'll rant and rave
Cause the Snyderverse never will be saved
They'll have it enscribed upon their grave
"I was a Snyderjeet."
"I was a Snyderjeet."
"I was a Snyderjeet."

Nope, that's not how it works. I don't want to propagate this system of paying useless human beings to play pretend. It's archaic and should not exist anymore. When I want to experience a story, I want to experience its characters as they are. Not some dumb fucking moron in a costume playing pretend. Which is why Batman: Arkham is the only good Batman outside of the comics and cartoons. The movies are a total write-off. Once Hollywood is able to use AI-powered 3D CGI to their full potential in the mid 2030's, filmmaking will explode, and you'll finally get a real Batman on screen. Not a cosplay show.

That's $400 million is just in the first 10 days. Also, films of this size usually have surpass 2.5x the production budget in theaters to be considered a hit. So with the budget reported at $225 million, it needs to make $563 mil before they start generating a profit.
It's also not going to stop making money because F4 is released. Probably have a 50% drop, but is still passing 300 mill domestic this weekend.

AI is a victimless gambit. All it does is speed up production EXPONENTIALLY and cuts out middlemen that were a burden to productions. The craftsmen will not be put out of work, merely they will work with tools that streamlines their process and makes the creation of content the most painless its ever been. Now creators can actually focus on what matters instead of stressing over things that hamper their focus. The strikes in 2023 FUCKED this but it's not out of the picture at all. It's just slowed down because if the studios hadn't cucked out to their useful idiots for god knows why, by 2028 we'd already be in this timeline full speed. But now it will take longer. I'd say by 2034, the acting medium will be made completely redundant. AI is the only way to address the fact that movies sequels and TV seasons are taking 3-4 years in between, killing audience interest.

What would you do if you've invested billions into a franchise with movies, shows and animated cartoons in it BEFORE the first big movie in it releases and the movie bombs? Would you just say "oh well yeah i wasted my money, im sad about it I guess" or would you go FULL HARDCORE REALITY-DENYING COPE MODE and pretend you're living in a reality where your gamble paid off and you just keep sinking further into sunk cost fallacy until you crash and burn biblically? Cause it's better to do that than just admit you bet on the wrong horse and wasted all that money for nothing.

Sunk cost fallacy. Not even once.

This, just like Amazon with Rings of Power. That shit is flopping HARD, and it costed then BILLIONS already. Same happened to Disney parks and movies, they changed CEO like 4 times in in a few years because nobody knew how to make money anymore (spoiler: they still don't).

Imo the era of big studios making insanely big movies is dead, it has been for a while now. Not only they have to spend a lot withou knowing if they are going to get their money back but also audiences don't care anymore, that connection that drove millions to watch the same movie is dead, there are lone hits here and there but there is no algorithm to bring that audience back since that audience is fading away.

Idiotic equivalence. An original movie and one video game adaptation are not enough to offset their losses, fucking moron. Plus, they've dumped BILLIONS into the DCU. They're massively burning money with DC and have been for years. They COULD cut DC loose but then they'd lose their biggest IP next to Harry Potter. What they earned from those two insignificant movies is but a drop in the bucket compared to their debt and losses from DC.

You are not wrong. The idea of all those heroes were going to team up in a big movie at the end was the main thing in the MCU but after that happened the hype died pretty fast, same with the Snyderverse that went from Superman for the Trinity and then JL in 3 movies. I think that at this point even team ups are going to get boring, the reality is capeshit lost it's hability to surprise people, there is nothing new to be seen anymore.

Batman is what ultimately will kill Gunn's DCU even with a decent start. If he can't use Batman, he can't get people to be invested in what he's doing and that will kill it prematurely. I give it about 2-3 years before Gunn is fired and the entire studio is dissolved after Supergirl and Clayface do lukewarm numbers and Batman II blows the box office and does crazy numbers, maybe even a billion. Zazlav sees where the money leads and he picks the winner over the loser.

No, the film alone took over 330 million to produce (clocking in at 350m) and WB shelled out just the same amount to market it. That's 600 million in costs. For one movie. It'll cap at its exact same production and marketing figures at the BO. This is catastrophic but WB had a huge success with Minecraft and can take the loss.

>Gunn's Superman flopped,
wtf even counts as "flopping" anymore? all films eventually make profit, wtf is this? we just assume if it doesn't make 1 trillion dollars it's a flop?

Movies need to make around 3x their budget to make profit because the box office is shared among theaters, distribution, taxes etc. Also there is the marketing budget for which we don't have official numbers but in any 200 million movie is always something around 100-150 million. So even at 500 million Superman barely paid itself, it needs 600 or more to be a success.

Those movies do need to go near a billion to be a success.

They shouldn't spend a dime more than like 35mil on a Supergirl movie. Clean 90 minute romp with tight use of CGI instead of pissing endless money into your writers being too shit to understand set constraints.

>Jason Momoa as Lobo will be in Soupergirl
Mamoa is not a box office draw anymore fool. He bought down the Fast franchise to the point Vin diesel blames him for the last one flopping wven his Aquaman sequel was a flop. Supergirl will flop hard.

You could pack Supergirl with stars and it would still flop. The character can't even draw enough of an audience to sustain a low budget TV show.

This is why I hate dual reviewers. It's inevitably just one guy with a strong opinion bullying the other guy into agreeing with his take

Supergirl will flop which will add to Gunn being fired in 3-5 years. His DCU won't last long. Count on it.

If you include that London tower embezzlement the director and CEO paid himself AT LEAST 25 million dollars. The highest paid actor is Hoult who only got 2-3 mil, and with shitty visuals you expect us to believe this thing legitimately costed 225m dollars. Lmao. Gunn probably gave himself upwards of 75m dollars. Zaslav probably told him to too since DC is getting sold anyway.

And now Mickey is in the public domain since last year. Maybe you should've gotten your programming updated.
