Why won't any director involved in the Alien series involve Sigourney Weaver? She was the anchor of the franchise. No cameo? No subtle reference? Wtf?

Not that it's her fault but Resurrection is probably the reason why. When it got into cloning just to find a reason to bring her back it is probably best just to let her go. Sometimes characters need to just die off before their inclusion in the next story just becomes absurd. But they could have some files of her on a computer in the background somewhere.

Blomkamp was going to. He was finally going to set the Alien franchise right back and back on course like it always should have been. Set it a decade after Aliens, Ripley, Newt and Hicks are alive and older. The company found alien eggs elsewhere and a bunch of hijinks ensue that eventually brings in our main trio. It would have been great. But Ridley stomped on it to make his dumb android movies.

The universe of Alien is supposed to be imcomprehensibly unknown and lovecraftian.

The setting was really at odds with the movies continually forced everything to revolve around one random female space trucker like she's the be-all end-all of the universe.
