After watching Superman, I realized that a big-budget, high-quality Dragon Ball Z movie is actually possible. The question is, will we get it in our lifetime? How would you approach it? How many movies would you make?
For me, I’d plan 9 films in total.
For the first trilogy, the film structure would look like this:
>Movie 1: Pilaf and King Piccolo with Kid Goku.
>Movie 2: Teen Goku vs. Piccolo Jr.
>Movie 3: Adult Goku vs. Vegeta.
After that, I’d move on to the big sagas—Frieza, Cell, and Buu—spanning the remaining 6 films.
The only major difference would be recasting the role of Goku at key points, which wouldn’t be a big deal since Lucas did it in the Star Wars prequels when there was a 10-year gap between Episode 1 and Episode 2.
What do you think? Would this approach work for a live-action Dragon Ball Z series?
