I don't remember much of it. Didn't touch it after I re-watched the first 3 seasons though.

The retarded Native American girl was cute, Jessie Buckley was amusing, that's literally all I can remember from the entire season. Whenever I do a rewatch I'll just take S1-3.

It didn't even feel like Fargo. Just a bunch of stuff generic crime drama stuff happening with no real point. Like what was even the story arc of the "main" black girl? She acts aloof and snooty for ten episodes then solves the gang's problems in one scene and that's it

It's just very nothing, from what I recall. There's barely any interesting characters and the conflict seems very basic and underdeveloped. The previous seasons felt very layered and rewarding to stick with AND to rewatch later. I doubt I'll ever rewatch this one.

He probably lobbied for it. He's always wanted to be a dramatic actor. He's made quite a few movies that he's starred in where he's the president or he bangs a bunch of women or something. He released that shit nonstop under the radar like Tyler Perry and shit. The black audience must show up for it because they keep doing it.
I've always liked Rock since his SNL/Boyz 'n the Hood days. He's a solid standup and a really smart guy. I just don't know if he always fits in what he wants to do.

They all retain that Coen Bros. charm. Noah Hawley REALLY gets their world. I can't even believe all the inside references to their other movies constantly hidden in plain sight too. No matter how 'woke' or detached the show becomes over time -and that will probably continue- it will still have so many other good things going for it and I'll always watch as long as they make it. They keep attracting great actors each time and the stories are always good. It's just a treat to have. After Better Call Saul ended it just seemed like there weren't going to be current TV shows worth watching. I wish there were more shows like Mr. Inbetween and Louie; shows where there's one person with a vision in charge and they make it their way.

This. There are archetypal characters in the first three seasons and movie. Made North Dakota feel like some weird Bermuda triangle where history repeats to some degree. The normie pushed to murder, the pair of assassins, the verbose and vaguely demonic antagonist, the good cop etc. Season 4 mostly abandoned that.

I liked S4 for the most part. Chris Rock wasn't great but he was carried by other characters like Doc. I didn't like Jason Schwartzman either, I know he was basically playing himself but that meant I didn't buy him as part of that world. The rest was pretty enjoyable, worth a watch but not as good as anything that came before.

Agreed. Something in Hawley's brain snapped during S4 and he never recovered. Fargo S5 is some of the worst television of the 2020s so far.
It's essentially an extended domestic violence PSA sprinkled with hamfisted preaching. I tuned out when Jon Hamm slo-mo walked to his rape shed while Brittany Spear's "Toxic" (slowed + reverb) played, fading to black with a disclaimer about abuse.

Season 3 is a grower. Thought it as a bit meh on first watch since it's a bit darker and less comical than the seasons before it. Rewatched all three a couple of years later and loved it.
