Poltergeist II

I remember hearing about a book or movie where the protagonist was 'trapped' in a high rise, possibly in his own building (I think he was the architect but I might be mistaken), and basically had to make it down from the upper floors to ground level to escape. Anyone know what I'm thinking of?

>1408
Though it's more about an evil room in a building. The whole building isn't evil.
>The Shining
I think the hotel is like cursed or something.
>Ghostbusters
A key plot point is a skyscraper that was designed to attract ghosts by an evil architect.
>The Amityville Horror
Classic "haunted house" film. Has lots of sequels, many of which have nothing to do with the original at all apart from the name.

>"what if we take one of the poorest parts of NY, and make them so expensive that only the rich can live there?"
-Every leftist NY mayor ever and their banker masters.

No matter how much they claim to care about the poor, they get richer and the poor get poorer with fewer places to live under their "leadership." That area where that structure called "Vessel" is was called Hudson Yards, and used to be one of the most affordable areas of NY. Not any more. It competes with 5th Avenue and Billionaire's Row for being one of the most expensive now.

>>213014968
The purpose of modern architecture is to remove all "whiteness" and create "neutral space" so those peoples from cultures that didn't even fucking try to get on our level don't have to feel insecure. Even "modern" has to submit to this rule, which is why fast food restaurants went from being happy-fun pleasant places to being dull and ugly. Can't have some 3rd-worlder feel bad by seeing the fact of a white clown in a red-and-yellow costume after they chose on their own to go where the white people are.

the weird thing is you don't even get good views of the city when you reach it ... it's ugly as shit ... the highline (which is an elevated walkway that spans blocks of the city) is much better than that waste of space

I don't need a book to explain it, I know why it's all ugly now: the rich are gate-keeping aesthetic for themselves because they hate when the plebs are capable of enjoying things at the same level of them.

Precisely. People forget that the biggest issue with the few hoarding the majority of wealth isn't that they'll keep climbing to higher levels, it's that they'll only be happy if the rest of us keep falling further down the ladder as well.
