It's not that bad, it's beautifully shot - Kubrick was allegedly a technical advisor. The director used his hack wife as costumer designer and the ridiculous shit he let her put in there adds a layer of ridiculousness that's difficult to overcome.

seriously. i went in expecting a silly movie because haha maymay look how silly he looks! and all that jazz, but its actually really good and i mean that. very interesting visually and the story isnt bad either. an interesting post apocalyptic take, leaning into time machine and planet of the apes a little with elements here and there, but not nearly as recognized for its uniqueness as the other two. i guess it doesnt have mass appeal, because of its weirdness, but it isnt weird enough for tha arthouse faggots. it falls inbetween, which makes it stand out to me more. its a little like excalibur where its a cool movie with artsy visuals.
