its meh. the story is so generic and predictable which is kinda sad because i liked the directing, the cast is great and the production value is really good.
the predictable writing makes it feel longer than it should be and i dont get why they didnt come up with the slightest twist in the story. like i.e.:
- there is no supernatural stuff happening
- the mom just fell for some AI/prank shit video but because of her mental state she believed it
- she kidnaps poor ollie and through sheer mental torture, starving, drugs and violence brainwashes him into believing he acutally is a vessel (demon) and needs to feed on her daughters corpse ect.
- cut out the whole brother-sister-split-reunion stuff out
- cut the aid worker stuff
- make it more about body horror, closed spaces, drug induced hallucinations and mental abuse

Relatively unique storyline, very insidious villain that was unusually played by a woman and a former social worker nonetheless.
