I wasn't sure which board to post this to, so I'll try my luck here. Is it possible to get any of the Star Wars fan edits on pressed discs? I want something that will last, unlike picrel which I was disappointed, though unsurprised, to learn was BD-R.

I do own the Special Editions. Episodes IV and VI have changes which make them basically unwatchable to me.

i purchased the disney steel books of the originals when they were in stores like a few years ago
each movie comes with the 4k version, the blu-ray version, a bonus features disk and the special edition dvd for some reason
but im pretty sure they were a limited time release and you cannot get them now unless you buy them second hand

I also got these... they were on clearance at BestBuy for $10 each. Helluva score. There's also rumors of an honest to god true restoration of the OT (ie theatrical without revisionist Lucas changes) being conducted right now for a 2027 release coinciding with the 50th anniversary of SW. Some nerds found a leak where video clips are being sent up for review. By all accounts, the clarity and color balance are the best it's ever looked. If this shit doesn't see a retail release, I'll be majorly pissed.
