This was genuinely the worst film I've EVER seen
What the FUCK were they thinking?

Loved it so much I bought a bunch of props from the movie, including a blouse that Kelly MacDonald wears

It's not that bad, settle down. Maybe a bit of a pointless sequel.

I agree, I loved the original movie so much that it was actually one of the first DVDs I ever bought in the early 2000s. This sequel was such a disapointment that I can barely rememeber a single thing about it. The first movie is jam-packed with memorable dialogue, shots, use of music, etc.

Scottish Tax Credits I suspect.
Did the movie have anything to do with the sequel novel?

I didn't think the first was that great either. It's a depressing spectacle, and not much else

The second novel is called Porno, and it's about getting into the porn business. Sickboy is the one that's trying to pull it off. Renton escapes after scamming Sickboy, running to Europe to have a romance with Kelly MacDonald.

As far as sequels go it was pretty decent but lacked the charm of the original

That's all you can really get out a sequel

Adaptations of the trainspotting sequels would have been cool. It was just too late, turned into nostalgia fest

Yes, I know. I'm asking if trainspotting 2 was based on it or not.
In highschool I read all the Irvine Wesh I could get my hands on, to the point where my internal monologue has been a thick edinburgh accent.
By the time porno came out I just decided maybe I wouldn't bother reading it right away.

Oh, nah. As far as I'm aware (I've not seen it in forever), Renton is a wank who lives in London and visits back home, only for Bigby getting released from Prison and trying to hunt everybody down.

I watched some Youtube videos of it and it looked pretty good but not as good as the Youtube videos of Trainspotting I watched

I liked it but it definitely had major flaws

A couple I remember

>have Kelly Mac Donald show up but itโ€™s basically a cameo and seems pointless, maybe schedules conflicted but seeing them reconnect more (even if just as friends) would have been interesting given sheโ€™s a proper adult and mark isnโ€™t
>sickboys prostitute girlfriend is basically a non character and feels completely fake. Terrible writing
>begbie escapes prison. Goes home. For some reason at no point do the authorities check his fucking HOME for where he may have fled?

>For some reason at no point do the authorities check his fucking HOME for where he may have fled?
Budget cuts to the constables coupled with the increase in truck and knife attacks meant there was no one they could send to investigate

They still junkies? I remember when they announced this I loved the original and thought I'd watch the sequel and then it came out and somehow I'd lost my window of interest
