It's mostly women. Women resort to screaming in most scenarios, presumably as a natural instinct to catch the attention of one of their male protectors. Just look at how many videos there are of some sort of chaotic scenario which have a shrieking woman or two (or a few dozen) in the background, impotently screeching to the sky. They like to imagine that their instinctual defense mechanism has some actual power beyond being irritating, distracting, and summoning a man who will actually do something.
Seriously though, it's hilarious to watch videos of some sort of public fight or somebody being arrested, and there will be some woman standing around in the background, just mindlessly shrieking, not even words just EEEEEEEEE AAAAAHHHH, like a wild fucking animal.
