David Lynch was a HACK. He’s just weird for the sake of being weird. That’s it. He makes random, confusing stuff and people act like it’s genius because they’re scared to say they didn’t get it. It’s not art, it’s noise. Half his movies feel like someone had a dream while overdosing on NyQuil and decided to film it in black and white.

People will say “oh you just don’t understand it,” but maybe there’s nothing to understand. Maybe it’s just bad. If a random film student made the exact same thing, no one would care. But because it’s Lynch, it’s suddenly profound. No. It’s just nonsense with spooky music.

And then you’ve got the /tv/cels acting like “you got filtered” is a valid comeback. It’s not. It’s the same reddit tier circlejerk every time. Lynch drops some cryptic broing mess, says nothing, and lets his fanbase write essays on what it “means.” He’s not a genius, he just realized he never has to explain himself if he’s vague enough.

I’m not filtered. I’m just not falling for the scam.
