In addition to that, there was a lot of practicality to consider. Season 1, they spent a LOT of time getting the hair right. It's not a simple lmao bald cap + slapping on a wig.
However for later seasons they both didn't have the time as filming schedule was aggressive (even if the seasons took a fuck long time to complete, they didn't actually schedule filming in certain locations for that long) and actors themselves were less willing to go through lengthy hair & makeup if it could be reasonably avoided.
Finally, the the last season, they didn't use a wig at all. That was her actual hair bleached the fuck out.
