Oh no, another flop. 4,8 million worldwide in the first week on a budget of 25(and they already said the movie will be released on vod August 12). I haven't seen the movie yet but I liked Beau a lot. It'll be a shame if Aster doesn't get budgets like that anymore and starts making Hereditary type horror movies

This was seriously on par with Beau. I enjoyed both heavily

The stuff he produces fails too. Remember Sasquatch Sunset? Died HARD. He was behind Death of a Unicorn, too. Anything non-horror he puts his name on is box office poison, and I have a feeling he thinks he's above horror now.

Beau was the last movie I saw in theaters and I was content but after I get laid off from my job of 15 years later today I will treat myself with this movie on the big screen and I will be content once more

Probably because his non horror films are much better than his horror films. They flop at the box office because audiences refuse to engage with anything not 100% concrete and literal. You see it on here as well, most posters who saw Beau just said
>umm well that was random!
Without any attempt to parse through what they just watched.

it'll be a shame if Aster keeps making movies.
