Well, no, the opening seems perfectly like a montage of things the FF have done so far, that seems intentional. It just seems condensed, so probably it was originally meant to drag out longer. The only villain we see is Mole Man and he becomes important in the finale. The others may have had cameos as well, but it really seems like the planned opening was condensed for pacing, not "butchered".
