The OG MoS needed only a few tweaks to be unmoggoable as far Superman suits go (post-MoS Henry's muscle suits got too obnoxious and I think they added in more Kryptonian patterns)

I'd say the shortened Krypton sequence is as the planet is literally exploding and Jor-El/Lara are sending Kal off. Zod arrives cause they are buddies and is like 'come with me and my merry band into the Phantom Zone' as their survival plan and is happy about Kal sent to Earth due humans being compatible but, well I haven't fully worked it out yet but Jor-El and Lara still die and Zod gets into PZ. Time dilation is a thing there so when they emerge on Earth it's obviously 30 years later, maybe 10 years for Zod. He has these ideological disputes with Superman that they really ought to be more forceful with humans re: YOU WILL BREED WITH US but holds no ill will towards humans, actually likes their cultures, etc. and is earnest in mentoring his friend's son. It's only when he takes a tour of the fortress and realises it has EVERYTHING needed to mass grow Kryptonians and terraform does he do a 180, like a total switch. It's not even a betrayal in the sense of 'HAHA I FOOLED YOU ALL ALONG', no he was gonna adapt to Earth and be calm until he realised a quicker and more brutal way was there all along
