I actually liked it a lot except for the last third with the maxi golf stuff. It seems like that's a universally disliked idea. Happy's character felt consistent with what he accomplished in the 1st movie. I know some people dislike killing off the wife but I thought it was appropriate and a good setup for his new challenges with alcoholism and family... I feel like it treated Happy very respectfully which is a lot more than you can expect when dealing with these 30 years later sequels

The second half of the movie fell off a fucking cliff. It felt like a fucking random fever dream. I fucking hated every minute of it.

The girl from the AA meetings should have been older. Happy got back to a happy place again, but the cherry would have been allowing himself to fully move on, especially with the kids moving. Can still have the vision of his wife because it’s not a replacement, but just allows him to be with someone that continues to support him.
