It was fucking stupid. How far away was the prison from land? Most people would get dead tired after swimming a few hundred feet. And why didn't the Empire just use Tie Fighters to blast the water while they were swimming?
>>213086783 They made a point of how understaffed the prison was because of its electric floor design. The swimming part is easy to suspend disbelief towards.
>>213086783 >Most people would get dead tired after swimming a few hundred feet. you can swim longer in space water

>>213086920 >>Ghorman >WOW IT'S JUST LIKE THE LE TRUMP ICE RAID RIOTS IN LA! ...no? The Ghorman massacre was a pretty blatant allegory to Nazi occupation of France. The immigration allegory was the first arc of the second season which is generally accepted to be pretty weak.
>>213087158 >Those people have been pulling twelve hour shift seven days a week. Swimming for half an hour isn't gonna kill them. Yeah, because one translates so well into the other....and wouldn't doing 12 hour shifts make you tired? You think Olympic swimmers are working 12 hours shifts to prepare for their races/
>>213087273 In theory none of them should have made it >drowned from getting tired along the way >sea creatures eating them >TIE fighters swooping down and just blasting them with lasers >some troops waiting at the beaches to grab them when they get to shore The entire scenario was so fucking retarded.

>>213086747 (OP) Don't know if it's the best but it's undeniably Kino.
>>213087308 Ok retard. Show me vids of Olympic swimmers working in factories to train for their races. You clearly have never worked a manual labor job. You get stronger, but you are also tired more. If you said to a guy working at a factory job right now "jump into this lake and swim to that island half a mile away" they woudn't be able to do it.
>>213087102 I don't go out of my way to hate stuff because some of the fans are idiots. Sports fandom would be impossible if that's how everyone operated.
>>213087225 That translates into them not being out of shape fatties at the very least. I understand that for some people swimming a mile seems an impossible feat but it's actually not for the average healthy adult male.
>>213087482 >That translates into them not being out of shape fatties at the very least. You've clearly never swam or working a manual labor job. You get tired. Your body gets tired. Doing that job for a long time then expecting to swim a mile is fucking ludicrous. You are living in a fantasy land. (and it looked longer than mile).
>>213087525 What is this photo? Are these guys Olympic swimmers? And again this isn't a job. This is a short training exercise or competition. As was said, the prisoners were worked to the bone 12 hours everyday. There is no way they would have the energy for a swim like that. Most people couldn't do it anyway. Swimming is hard.
>>213087658 >they are olympic swimmers working in the lumber factory. Are you fucking retarded? They didn't put those very small logs into clamps then have the guys stand on them with an axe and cut them AND have a large crowd watching for "work". It's clearly some kind of competition you fucking retard. And there is no evidence that these are Olympic swimmers. It looks like your typical wood chopping competition (guy on the far right doesn't have a swimmers body). You can even see the judge inspecting the competition. Kys you literal retard

>>213086747 (OP) I've really enjoyed how many memorable but brief characters the show has had. They're around for a couple of episodes at most, but you remember them, and the casting is distinct enough to where they stand out acting-wise and visually.
>>213089176 I'm autistic as shit and my take having seen the episode 1,5 hour ago was that he was just dumbfounded, but your explanation makes more sense within the context of the events just before. That sorta pretentious slowmo of his face midmassacre felt like his realisation that the empire he wanted to excel within was evil, and that he had basically wasted his time and effort.
>>213086747 (OP) When I heard a ton of praise for Andor all I saw was tiny clips or screenshots from the prison, so until I started watching the show myself this year I thought "Andor" was a space station prison, or a prison planet, and that the entire show was set within a prison where they were trying to break out - Dedra being a warden or something. (I saw that vixen posted a lot, naturally)

This show was maybe a 6/10 at the most. I'm sure that's still leagues better than the other Star Wars shows, but this was not prestige television. The dialogue regularly tries way too fucking hard to be deep and epic and loses all subtlety and believability in the process. The younger cast members do not have the skill to sell a gritty story in such a silly setting. And Andor himself is simply not fun or likable or charismatic or relatable or really anything, I have no idea what I'm supposed to feel for him. It's watchable and puts together some nice high-tension scenes pretty regularly but big-picture it's hard to take it all seriously.
