One of my favorite Harlan Ellison quotes is when someone asked him on a talk show if he believed aliens have visited Earth. He said something along the lines of, "Well if they did, I certainly don't think they'd be wasting their time looking inside Whitley Strieber's asshole."

I love that story of him doing his first book tour ever in Israel. A reporter asks him what his thoughts are of what's going on in the Middle East, assuming that since he's an American Jew that he would be fervently pro-Israel. He then goes on a rant about how we should build a wall there and let them all kill each other, occasionally looking through a window in the wall so see if the Jews and Arabs have finally "become civilized." The reporter then hanged up and his entire tour was cancelled lol.
