Pros

>Good family dynamics (though I think the 2005 version still did it a little better).
>Efficient worldbuilding.
>Neat retro-futuristic production design.
>Sweeping score, though I was surprised how little they used the “FAN-TAS-TIC FOOOOUUUUR” chant after spamming it in the trailer.
>The best CGI Marvel has had in a while, give or take a couple of scenes.
>Balanced tone that lets the serious moments breathe.
>Tight pacing overall.
>Silver Surfer wormhole chase and F4 vs Galactus were great setpieces.
>Galactus in general was great, very intimidating, and felt like both a force of nature and a petty cunt when he wants to be.
>Reed and Sue had really good, believable chemistry.
>Johnny actually got to be smart and resourceful.
>Generally standalone, didn’t sacrifice its setting and tone to build up Doomsday.

Cons

>First 15 minutes were pretty choppy due to the recut Red Ghost sequence.
>CGI Franklin was uncanny in some scenes.
>Ben did next to nothing and felt pretty disconnected from the others. Even the “It’s clobberin’ time” sequence felt flat.
>Most of the jokes didn’t land, but then again they seemed to be going for mild chuckles over big laughs anyway.
>The world turning on the F4 subplot was solved very abruptly (a victim of reshoots, Marvel probably didn’t want to paint the population negatively)
>Mole Man was alright but pretty superfluous.
>Silver Surfer was underused, deserved more scenes.

7.5/10, Marvel might be back after all.

I think it needed to be longer. I also think it was edited weird.

>silver surfer can travel at the speed of light
>can cross the entire planet in seconds
>galactus doesn't send this OP silver wench to yoink franklin the second they put him down in the middle of the city, and instead gets his big ass up from his chair to do it himself

Let's hope they release the 2.5 hours director cut.

>She had gone AWOL by then.
You know that's the kind of thing that would have been nice to see. Like her confronting Galactus. Or her having a classic silver surfer glide through empty space ruminating, and to show that she's MIA

I mean, we literally see her flying away after her confrontation with Johnny. Felt pretty clear to me.

the fake leaks on here that said Galactus "won" and the Four had to flee the MCU universe were so much better than what happened in the actual movie.
