This movie is genuinely pretty funny but this is not how bipolar act. It got a little ridiculous at times

it was good enough. watched this as a teen when I was struggling with my mental health. I liked that the characters were were able to find a happy ending but the mental health struggles weren’t romanticized. It’s still made clear that you would never want to have these issues or date someone with these issues.

Very fun movie though. My favorite scene is when JLaw legitimately convinces the dad she is good juju and that it was the dad that fucked up while using the dad's own degen-gambling logic.

I agree that it did a good job of those things but both main characters don't seem like they are exactly bipolar per se. They seem like they have aspergers and also some kind of mood disorder, but not really classic bipolar.

Bipolar people act quite a lot like schizophrenics, except with way more energy. It comes in episodes of mania but there is also just a constant low level derangement
