I liked its Lex, but the Superman was rough, especially during the fight with the giant monster. He's shouting about how they shouldn't kill the monster as its every step and swing crushes buildings and endangers hundreds. He swooshes off to save a literal squirrel rather than stop the rampaging monster. He criticises the JG for actually stopping the monster. The whole scene felt inane and very much NOT "character down perfectly."

His relationship with Lois was one of my favorite incarnates of it though. I like how their issues come from who Lois is as a person and who Superman is as a person, and the two don't mesh as well as they both hope because of their core characters. They felt a lot more tangible, rather than "Her name is Lois so she has to be with Clark."

I was thinking more of in the aftermath of the fight when the Kryptonians retreat and they take a moment to have the military CO suck him off with 'dis dood not r enemy.' Bro, fucking shut up and accept the filmmakers made an oversight - SUPERMAN recklessly brought a fight into a town and they neglected to have him show an ounce of guilt/remorse and self-awareness of his culpability in causing the whole mess.
