Twist Reveal:
DOOM is actually the 'real' Tony resurrected and controlled by Extremis (kind of like Spider-Man 2's Doc Ock).
His real plan is to cut off his dimension from all the others, even if this means bad things and chaos for the other dimensions.
Some things are red herrings, like Latveria being in the FF movie.
The plan is for Tony to regain control and end up as the Director of a new version of Shield with cameos in future movies and maybe a SHIELD movie of his own.

Absolutely nada. And for the 5 total fans of the film itself? They get a vague reference in the new Captain America.
