Still, there's a big difference between a Director's Cut which adds about 20 minutes of unseen footage that was released a few years after the fact and contemporary auto-pilot remastering.

For a theatrical release in the 90's going over 2 hours was pushing it since that means more film reels, and fewer screenings in a theater.
