Even if Superman stopped part of the truck (like grabbing the bumper), the metal would break and the other parts are still going to keep moving and explode. A truck isn't one solid piece of metal. It's hundreds of pieces bolted and welded together. It's going to crumble, bend, and break apart.
Notice how Gunn's version just randomly has a Monster appear in the middle of the city with no sign of how it got there? There's no trail of destruction. Nothing is destroyed underneath the monster. Like a computer just magically copy pasted the monster in the middle of the city. Then it falls backward. And even if Superman pushed the monster, a monster of that size wouldn't immediately stop like that. There's still momentum and other parts of the monster smashing into buildings. You ever try stopping someone who is already tumbling backwards with just one finger? It doesn't work. Same idea.
