He's known them a long time at least since the first prequel Plinkett.

He started off being hated pretty much universally. But as the years have marched on and the fanbase expanded he's picked up a not inconsequential fanbase both ironic and unironic.

He and Josh are the OG "fourth guys" for BOTW. Josh is only funny during the screenings and is boring in the discussion, Jack was hilarious in one episode where he got shitfaced but now he's sober and much less funny as a result. It's a testament to the strength of their friendship that Mike, Jay, and Rich still have them on occasionally.

Jay and Josh are good friends because they both love weird creepy European movies, Rich and Jack are friends I guess because they both play video games.
