He made a point about how elves are pure and don't shit and will literally die rather than be raped by Arwen isn't a pureblood elf so we are entitled some highly descriptive bowel movements while everyone's in Rivendell I really don't think this is too much to ask

First of all, stop the spam of flood. Secondly, the problem here is that Tolkien admits ruling is hard. Both Denethor and Théoden suffered greatly from stress—both literally lost their minds and some point in their lives from said stress.
Also, LOTR is a war story; we don’t know their tax policy because the story takes place during a large-scale war. GRRM is a fucking idiot.

You do realise he is not literally talking about tax policy, right? He is critiquing Tolkien’s idea that Aragorn will be a good ruler simply due to his bloodline and education (see: Young Griff).

Isn't that LITERALLY what makes a good ruler? The legitimacy of his claim and knowledge of how to rule? What more could you ask for? Should he serve 40 years as a king in another kingdom before applying?

Aragorn needs to have a chapter describing his penis and his bowel movements. Only if we get a full chapter describing this can we know if Aragorn was a good king. Also we nerd a book that goes into morbid insane detail about hobbit sex.

I found it peculiar that Tolkien refused to acknowledge rape at all in his writings. He even said that Uruk hai were created by debasing human males and inducing them to breed with willing orc females. Rape is not something he wanted in his universe.

When would Aragorn have learned that? He lived alone in a forest for most of his life and being a good military leader doesnt always translate to being a good ruler

It's obvious by his character. The only reasonable objection would be if he was like under 25 or something, since young men think they are immortal and often do insane shit as a result. But he was like 80 so whatever. Of course he fucks up by having his kids be shitty rulers (if he even has any?) but whatever.

Tolkien’s book is unfinished. Lord of the Rings is just a side project he chipped away at for decades because his publisher kept bugging him.

this seems really out of context because im not sure if he's directly criticizing the father of the genre he's aping, or if he's answering some kind of question that asked his own personal opinion on how he separates himself from tolkien. the latter is a valid self-reading of Martin's own work, because he IS more focused on the minutia and politics than tolkien was. they both have entirely different objectives as authors, and they both do great work (when martin is actually finishing his books LMAO!)
